SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Seton Hall women's soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 result to Drexel on Sunday at Owen T. Carroll Field where the Dragons converted on a penalty shot in the 78th minute.
Junior Julia Aronov (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) led the Pirates with two shots on goal. The Pirates (3-2) finished with a 4-3 advantage in shots on target.
The Pirates created opportunities in the first half where senior Naomi Welch (Livingston, Scotland) and Aronov both took shots that were saved. The chance for The Hall in the game was a strike taken by freshman Sophie Liston (Newcastle West, Ireland). Classmate Caroline Lipton (Alexandria, Va.) sent a beautiful ball from the other side of the pitch and found Liston in stride as she booted the ball with her right foot but it hit the cross bar.
The Pirates committed a foul on the Dragons in the box in the 78th minute and they took advantage of the miscue as their penalty shot to the left found the back of the net. Seton Hall battled but ultimately couldn't equalize in the final minutes.
Quick Kicks
- Goalkeeper Grace Gordon (Chester Springs, Pa.), senior Dani Brinckman (Glastonbury, Conn.), freshman Cara Milne-Redhead (Clitheroe, England) and freshman Natalie Tavana (Middletown, Conn.) played the full 90 minutes for the Pirates.

- Senior Laura Hooper (Watford, England) came off the field in the second half with an injury, her first time not playing a full contest since Oct. 19, 2019 when she came off against DePaul.
