
Pirates Release 2022 Softball Schedule

South Orange, N.J. – Entering her first season at the helm, Seton Hall softball head coach Angie Churchill announced the 2022 schedule on Tuesday, a total of 48 games against 20 different opponents.
The Pirates will take on 12 non-conference opponents, including three who made the NCAA Tournament last season, in addition to all eight conference opponents.

SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS
- Seton Hall will open the 2022 campaign when they take part in the Tiger Invitational hosted by Auburn. The Hall will open up with two games apiece against the host, Auburn, and UMass Lowell over two days, Feb. 11-12. The Tigers were an at-large bid for the NCAA Tournament last season.
- The Pirates will then travel to Baltimore Md., when they take part in the Retriever Round Robin #1 hosted by UMBC from Feb. 19-20. The Pirates will take on the likes of UMBC and Saint Joseph's over the two-day tournament. The Retrievers of UMBC made the NCAA Tournament each of the last two seasons as the conference representative of the America East conference as the two-time defending conference champion.
- The Hall will also head out to the west coast, to take part in the Libby Matson Tournament hosted by University of the Pacific. From March 4-6, the Pirates will play two games against Nevada, two against Pacific and one against Idaho State. The two matchups with the Nevada Wolfpack will be the first in program history.
- Making up the rest of the non-conference slate, the Pirates will host the likes of Monmouth (March 23) and Rider (May 4) with both matchups scheduled for a doubleheader. The Pirates will hit the road for doubleheaders with last year's MAAC champion and NCAA Tournament team, Manhattan (April 2), Stony Brook (April 6) and Marist (April 20). The Hall will also travel to Piscataway to take on in-state rival Rutgers (April 12). That game will serve as the 64th meeting all-time between the two programs.
- Seton Hall's first BIG EAST matchup of the year will take place at home when the Pirates take on the Bulldogs of Butler with a doubleheader set for Saturday, March 13 and the Sunday finale to follow.
- The Pirates will open up conference play with two BIG EAST series at Essex County Mike Sheppard, Sr., Field, when they play host to Providence (March 11-12) and Creighton (May 18-20). Seton Hall will also host conference foes DePaul (April 8-10) and Connecticut (April 22-24).
- The Hall will travel for four BIG EAST series: Butler (March 25-27), Georgetown (April 14-16) and last season's BIG EAST Champion, Villanova (April 29-May 1), before rounding out the regular season at St. John's (May 6-8).
- The BIG EAST Tournament is scheduled for May 12-14.
