Borg's Late Goal Lifts Pirates to 2-1 Win over St. John's

How it Happened
The two sides jockeyed for control in the opening 45 minutes, with much of the action taking place in the midfield. St. John's Antek Sienkiel generated the best opportunity of the first half, firing a shot in on Hannes Ronnholmen (Stockholm, Sweden) from near the top of the penalty area, but the senior goalkeeper was able to make the save.
Play opened up in a major way in the second half, with both attacks finding their footing. The Pirates got on the board in the 59th minute, as a cross from Borg was deflected in by a Red Storm defender.

St. John's was undeterred, putting its foot on the gas in the ensuing several minutes seeking an equalizer. Ronnholmen was forced to make saves on a pair of Red Storm chances soon after the goal, including a sliding stop off a point-blank chance by Einar Lye.

Eventually, St. John's would break through, as Sienkiel took a feed from Wesley Leggett and found the back of the net in the 79th minute to even the match at 1-1. Five minutes later, Leggett nearly had the go-ahead tally, as his shot from just inside the 18-yard box trickled wide of the back post.
Just after Leggett's chance, the Pirates built one of their own, but this time they were able to cash in. Quenzi Huerman (Vannes, France) received a pass from Liam Guske (St. John's, Fla.) and moved towards the attacking third with pace. Huerman found Borg at the top of the penalty area, who found space and fired one with his left foot into the back of the net to give Seton Hall the 2-1 lead.
