Lejbowicz's Brace Leads Pirates in Rout of Lehigh
10/21/2025 9:13:00 PM | Men's Soccer
In a dominant first half showing, the Pirates collected a pair of goals, one each from Sam Bjork and Pyry Lampinen, and outshot the Mountain Hawks eight-to-three on their way to a 2-0 lead entering the break. When the second half arrived, The Hall's offense buried Lehigh under a three-goal barrage, including a brace by Mikkel Lejbowicz, on the way to a dominant 5-1 win to close out non-conference play.
With the win, Seton Hall moves to 6-2-6 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In the opening minutes of the Pirates' non-conference finale, the Pirates' offense found early pressure in the hills of Pennsylvania. The majority of that pressure could be attributed to Mikkel Lejbowicz's insertion into the Pirates' starting XI for the third time this season. The sophomore's ceaseless motor and strong pace, paired with strong passing from the backline, created headaches for the Mountain Hawks' backline. That pressure eventually forced Lehigh into a quandary in the 11th minute, when a pair of strong shots inside the box were met by saves from the opposing keeper.
Even after scoring first, The Hall's offense continued to smother Lehigh's defense. As the press continued, the Pirates tallied seven shots entering the final minutes of the half. One more shot, however, would make an impact for Seton Hall before the break. As The Hall continued to push in the open field, Liam Guske crossed a ball in from the backline to the center of the pitch. Guske's elite touch layered the ball through multiple layers of Pirates and Mountain Hawks to Pyry Lampinen, who struck the ball down the middle to double the Pirates' lead heading into halftime.Sam Bjork only scores BANGERS!🔥#HALLin🔵⚪️⚽️ | 🇸🇪x🏴☠️ pic.twitter.com/uVDTx4Lqn0

Coming out of the break, the Pirates' offensive pressure continued to increase with every minute of play. In the 48th minute, barely into the second half, that pressure blew the gasket off this game. After a throw-in, Joseph Min crossed a ball over to Lejbowicz, who, after two touches, sent the ball careening towards the far corner. Despite getting a hand on the ball, Lehigh's keeper could not keep that ball out of the net, making it a 3-0 Seton Hall lead.Light up the Lamp-inens, we've got another goal!💡#HALLin🔵⚪️ | 🏴☠️x🇫🇮 pic.twitter.com/fwqMjK79cN

After Matias Molina shut down the best Mountain Hawks chance of the night, Lejbowicz pressed the Pirates' attack forward again. Once again off the left side, the Dane broke down the defense before sneaking the ball past the keeper on the near post for the Pirates' fourth goal of the night and his second.Mikkel clears that ball for takeoff to make it 3-0! ✈️#HALLin🔵⚪️⚽️ | 🏴☠️x🇩🇰 pic.twitter.com/oVBQmlJN2E

After emptying the bench, the Pirates' offense had one more exclamation point to add on this non-conference finale. After collecting the ball on the wing, Diego Fernandez, in a rare appearance, crossed the ball into the box from just off the backline. On the receiving end of the cross was a streaking Joe Waight, who forcefully sent the ball into the net for his first career goal.Mikkel Brace?
