South Orange, N.J. – Despite Katherine Kleinsmith's clean sheet and 14 total shots, Seton Hall women's soccer (3-3-5, 0-2-1 BIG EAST) drew St. John's in a BIG EAST clash, 0-0, on Saturday afternoon at Owen T. Carroll Field.
How it Happened
After tallying four total shots last time out against Georgetown, the Pirates came out firing in the first half with six shots in the half. Meanwhile, Kleinsmith snuffed out all the St. John's shot that came her way in her fifth career start.
Coming out of halftime, the Pirates continued to push the ball offensively, stressing St. John's defense. In both the 54th and 70th minutes, the Pirates produced dangerous attacking chances powered by the pressure generated by Gianna Angelillo. However, the Red Storm saved all four shots, frustrating the Pirates' offensive attack.
After that sequence, a flurry of substitutions followed over the remaining 20 minutes as both teams searched for the tie-breaking goal. However, both teams could only muster one shot during that span as the clock ticked down to zero.

In a back-and-forth opening frame, Seton Hall's offense came close to landing the scoring blow on multiple occasions, highlighted in the 28th minute by an Adria Kitzinger shot that the Red Storm's keeper kept out of the net. A pair of late shots sparked saves from Kleinsmith, sending the Pirates to the break holding a 0-0 scoreline.15' | The corner gets shut down‼️ pic.twitter.com/slnSwydgPs
