Armstrong Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Goalkeeper Devin Armstrong (Palm Harbor, Fla.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for earning his second shutout of the season, the conference announced Tuesday.
After logging a shutout against Iona the week prior, Armstrong returned between the posts to face off against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the Garden State Derby. The experienced netminder faced early pressure from the Scarlet Knights, collecting two quick saves in the opening half. After the Pirates took the lead early in the second half, Rutgers' offense began to swarm The Hall's defensive third. However, Armstrong would not relent, adding four more saves to his tally, including two in the final ten minutes, to preserve a 1-0 win for the Pirates.
Armstrong is the first Pirate to recieve BIG EAST honors this season.
Seton Hall will play later today, September 8, when they play host to the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with opening kick set for 6:56 p.m. EST.
