Lamb And Beaver Earn All-Big East Softball Honors

Lamb was one of the most feared hitters in the league this season, hitting .357 in conference games with a .452 slugging percentage and a .534 on-base percentage. She started all 16 league games and collected 15 hits in 42 at-bats with a home run and four RBI. The Pirates finished 7-9 in the BIG EAST this season.
In overall games, Lamb led the team with a .391 average, slugging .609 and knocking in 16 runs with four homers. The Pirates ended the year with a 25-18-1 record.
Lamb was named the All-BIG EAST First Team in 1999 as well, when she hit .368 in BIG EAST play and the Pirates were 12-4 in the league and in second place. This year, Lamb was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on March 27.
Beaver finished the year with a 5-3 mark in BIG EAST play and a 1.40 ERA. She finished 12-7 overall and struck out 153 batters in 148 innings, becoming Seton Hall's all-time strikeout leader with 439 career K's.
Beaver's season was highlighted by two victories over St. John's, when she started game one of the doubleheader and pitched a complete game win followed by a 15-inning relief appearance in Seton Hall's 3-2 21-inning win in game two. She struck out 15 batters in 15 innings while allowing just one unearned run.
