Misty Beaver Named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ (April 16, 2001) - Seton Hall senior Misty Beaver (Machesney Park, IL) has been named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week, for the week ending April 15.
The righthander threw a perfect game on April 14, as the Pirates defeated St. John's, 2-0. Beaver struck out 12 batters in seven innings of work. It was the first perfect game of her career.
Beaver was 2-0 on the week, posting a 1.20 earned run average while averaging 1.9 strikeouts per inning. She also recorded the 7-4 win over Bucknell, striking out 10 batters in 4.2 innings of work.
On the season, Beaver is 9-3 with a 1.42 ERA. In 84 innings pitched, she has struck out 122, and is averaging 10.1 strikeouts per game.
It marks the fourth time in Beaver's career that she has earned the conference's weekly honor.
