Sacha Kljestan

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J.—Junior All-American Sacha Kljestan of the Seton Hall men’s soccer team earned a pair of Player of the Week honors for the week of Nov. 20. Kljestan was named National Player of the Week by College Soccer News, in addition to being named Player of the Week by Legea/BigAppleSoccer.com.

In the Pirates 2-1 victory over Hartwick in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Saturday, Kljestan recorded a pair of assists to advance the Pirates to the second round of the tournament. The win against Hartwick was the first win for the Pirates in the NCAA tournament since 2001. Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, Kljestan has tallied nine goals and 15 assists for the 2005 season, breaking the school record in assists. Kljestan is currently a semifinalist for the Missouri Athletic Club Herman Trophy.

The Pirates will face Penn State on Tuesday, Nov. 22 in the NCAA second round. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. in University Park, Pa.
