Despite FIU controlling the opening minutes of this matchup, the Pirates' new-look lineup surged to life in the 14th minute off the back of a Joseph Min goal. With momentum in their favor, Thomas Sellwood and Sam Bjork added two more goals before the half to give Seton Hall a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
After the break, The Hall did not rest on their laurels. Giacomo Mana and Mans Saebbo added two more goals to the Pirates' tally with ten minutes remaining in the match. As the game reached its end, the rotated Pirates' defense held firm to secure a 5-0 victory.
With the win, The Hall moves to 5-2-4 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite entering the game riding high on their ranking earlier in the day, the Pirates found themselves on the back foot in the opening ten minutes of this clash. The momentum entirely shifted in the 14th minute, however, when Joseph Min collected the ball in the middle third. Min swung the ball out to Sam Bjork, who, from the wing, swung the ball back into Min, who drove the ball to the far post. FIU's goalie could not react, allowing the Pirates to jump out to an
While FIU quickly responded with a pair of chances of their own, the Pirates' defense and goalie Matias Molina quelled their opposition. With no damage down, the Pirates countered into the attacking box, where Liam Guske assisted on a Thomas Sellwood goal to put The Hall up 2-0 in the 22nd minute.Joe Min with a BEAUTY for the early lead! 🏴☠️#HALLin🔵⚪️⚽️ pic.twitter.com/kFWJnmcqey

With little contest, the Pirates quickly marched their way down the pitch again in the 25th minute. Sellwood drove into the box before dishing the ball out to Hugo Gerbore. Gerbore passed the ball back to Sellwood, who then laced a header to a streaking Bjork. The graduate student put the ball in the back of the net, sending The Hall up 3-0 through 25 minutes of play. Despite ten substitutions in the final 20 minutes of the half, neither team registered a shot, allowing Seton Hall to reach halftime up 3-0.All Aboard the Thomas Sellwood Goal Express 🚂🇧🇷#HALLin🔵⚪️⚽️ pic.twitter.com/dI32P7zoJL

Just like the first half, the Panthers had momentum in the early stages. In the opening 20 minutes of the half, FIU outshot the Pirates two-to-zero as The Hall's offense looked for a response. That response came in the 76th minute when, in the aftermath of a failed set piece, Guske offloaded the ball to Axel Berglund outside the box. After collecting the ball, the senior rifled it in to Giacomo Mana in the penalty area. The freshman handled the missile pass and launched the ball past the Panthers' netminder, handing the Italian his first collegiate goal and the Pirates a 4-0 lead.SAM BJORK MAKES IT A GOAL-APALOOZA IN SOUTH ORANGE 🏴☠️🏴☠️ #HALLin🔵⚪️⚽️ pic.twitter.com/kz6X4owYm7

Not to be left out, sixth-year forward Mans Saebbo took advantage of a poor ball from FIU in their defensive third. In his 50th career game. The Swede barely touched the ball before firing it towards the goal. The ball ricocheted off the goalie's mitts and into the back of the net. The goal was his first since the Pirates' 3-2 win at Butler on October 27, 2021.ANDIAMO GIACOMO!

As the Pirates emptied their bench in the final minutes, FIU launched a late attacking surge, looking to prevent the clean sheet. Molina and the Pirates held strong, however, securing the 5-0 win over the Panthers.Look at that MANS go‼️#HALLin🔵⚪️⚽️ | 🏴☠️x🇸🇪 pic.twitter.com/pFf1wA8XZQ
