Giusfredi Named BigAppleSoccer.com Player of the Week

NEW YORK - Seton Hall sophomore Eliseo Giusfredi (Paterson, N.J.), who played instrumental roles in a pair of Big East road wins this past weekend, was named BigAppleSoccer.com's men's college player of the week for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 17.
Giusfredi's free kick helped give the Pirates a 1-0 triumph over host Rutgers Friday night as senior John Raus scored. Before the Scarlet Knights' defense could reset, Giusfredi whipped a cross into the box off a quick restart where Raus found himself left alone and headed it home from 10 yards.
On Sunday, Giusfredi converted a penalty kick -- his fifth goal of the season and the first of the match-- to lift Seton Hall to its sixth consecutive victory, a 2-0 win at Villanova.
The win moved the Pirates (6-2-0) to 4-0-0 in conference play for the first time since 2001.
Seton Hall travels to Morgantown, W. Va. to face eighth-ranked West Virginia in a Big East encounter Saturday.
