
Louisville Knocks Off Men's Soccer, 4-0

LOUISVILLE, KY. - The Seton Hall men's soccer team dropped its BIG EAST opener on Friday night, falling 4-0 at Louisville. The Pirates (3-4-0, 0-1-0) return to action on Sunday against conference foe Cincinnati.
The Cardinals (4-2-0, 1-0-0) got off to a quick start in the first half. In the 12th minute, Marco Terminesi scored off a cross from Gerardo Chavez just inside the box to give Louisville a 1-0 lead. Just over four minutes later, Chavez dribbled through the defense into the box before unleasing a scoring shot to push the lead to 2-0.
In the 54th minute, Aaron Clapham put home a Freddie Braun cross from 10 feet out to make it 3-0. Louisville tacked on one more score in the 88th minute when Steve Sloan scored off a deflection in front of the goal.
Sophomore goalkeeper Paul McHenry (Ephrata, Pa.) made four stops in net while allowing the first three goals. Freshman Sean Carr (Glendora, N.J.) had two saves in relief.
Senior Justin McGrath (Brick, N.J.) and junior Eliseo Giusfredi (Paterson, N.J.) led Seton Hall with two shots each. The Cardinals enjoyed a 19-8 advantage in shots, including a 10-3 edge in shots on goal. Corner kicks were tied 5-5.
Chavez had a game-high four shots. David Simolike had three saves while picking up the shutout win.
