STARKVILLE, Mo. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the Seton Hall softball team was in the Girls Got Game Top Ten All-Academic Teams, based on GPAs submitted for the 2007-2008 school year. The Pirates posted the third highest GPA (3.450) in Division I, just 0.90 points behind Tennessee Tech, who holds the top spot.
Through this program, the NFCA honors high school and collegiate softball teams for their success in the classroom.
NCAA Division II school Grand Canyon University led all four-year colleges with a 3.680 cumulative team grade-point average. Macalester College holds the top team GPA in Division III.
Wallace-Hanceville, the NJCAA Division I National Champions for 2008, also led the way with the top GPA for all member junior college programs.
This year’s top academic performers are:
