MILWAUKEE, Wisc. The Seton Hall men’s soccer team played to its second consecutive tie on Saturday night, ending in a 1-1 draw with Marquette. The Pirates (6-5-2, 2-3-2) are now just two points back of second place in the BIG EAST Blue Division.
Marquette outshot Seton Hall 6-3 in a scoreless first half. Junior keeper Paul McHenry (Ephrata, Pa.) made a pair of saves for the Pirates, while Matt Pyzdrowski had one save for the Golden Eagles (2-5-4, 1-4-2) on an attempt by SHU senior Christian Vercollone (Pembroke, Mass.).
The Pirates broke through in the 50th minute when sophomore Steven Rose (Acton, Mass.) notched his second goal of the season on a free kick from the top left corner of the box, making it 1-0.
Marquette tied things up in the 63rd minute when Nick Kay headed in an Anthony Colaizzi crossing pass from six yards out.
