Fordham has won six of eight coming into the weekend. Jen Mineau a perfect game and struck out 12 in a win over St. Peter’s in Rams home opener on Tuesday.
NO-NO FOR FORSYTH
Junior Ashley Forsyth pitched a no-hitter against FDU at the UMBC tournament on Mar. 6. Forsyth became the eighth pitcher in school history to toss a no-hitter, and was the first to do so since Ashley Arnett blanked LaSalle in 2006.
PIRATES ARE TOP DAWGS
SHU put together a dominant display en route to winning the championship game at the UMBC Dawg Pound Invite last weekend. The Hall outscored opponents 29-6 and posted a 4-1 mark.
KLEPTOMANIACS
Seton Hall has been aggressive on the base paths to begin the year. The Pirates are 25-of-31 on steals so far on the season. Sophomore Michelle Reed is a perfect 12-for-12, and has already tied her stolen base total from the 2008 season.
PITCHING IN
The Pirates bolstered their pitching numbers with five very strong performances at the UMBC
Tournament. SHU posted a team ERA of 1.40 and allowed just six runs.
KAELIN TIES SINGLE-GAME HIT RECORD
Freshman Kristen Kaelin became the second player to tie the single-game hit record of four this season when she did it against FDU on Mar. 6. Overall, she is the ninth player to accomplish the feat.
