
Softball Named Top Ten All-Academic Team by NFCA

STARVILLE, Mo. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced that the Seton Hall softball team has been named to the "Girls Got Game" Top Ten All-Academic Teams, based on GPAs submitted for the 2008-09 school year. The Pirates had a team GPA of 3.485, which ranked them sixth in the country. 



NJCAA Division I school Wallace State Community College/Hanceville led all colleges with a 3.733 grade-point average, while NCAA Division II's Ouachita Baptist University topped all four-year schools with a 3.663. NCAA Division I institution Robert Morris had a 3.610, while Emerson College was best in NCAA Division III with a 3.531 and NAIA's Bethel College led the way in that category with a 3.545.
In the high school ranks, there was a tie for first place in the non-weighted category between Hopkins High School (MN) and Madison County High School (GA), both with a 3.812 GPA. In the weighted category, Washburn Rural High School (KS) took top honors at 4.269.
This year's top academic performers in six membership categories (NCAA Divisions I, II, III; NAIA; junior college; and high school weighted and non-weighted) are:
