Women's Swimming and Diving Loses To Connecticut, 176-115

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The women's swimming and diving team lost to Connecticut, 176-115, Sunday afternoon at the Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium in South Orange. The loss dropped the women's team to 5-4 on the season.
Prior to the meet, seniors Olivia Jackson (Wescosville, Pa.), Hannah Meyer (Batavia, Ill.), Kim Alonso (Port Chester, N.Y.), Kaitlyn Hafner (Cinnaminson, N.J.), Natalie Tocaylowski (Sandwich, Mass.), and Ashley Williams (Clearwater, Fla.) were honored for their dedication and support to the program.
During the meet, sophomore Rose Virgilio (Bloomingburg, N.Y.) and freshman Andrea Shuba (Pittsburgh, Pa.) led the way with a first place and second place finish each. Virgilio earned her top time in the 50-yard freestyle and picked up her second place finish in the 100-yard freestyle. Shuba picked up a first place finish in the 200-yard backstroke and took home second place in the 100-yard backstroke.
Toczylowski earned second place in the 1,000-yard freestyle and third place in the 200-yard freestyle, while junior Kara Walbaum (Long Valley, N.J.) finished the day with third place finishes in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke.
The women's team returns to action when they travel to Marist on Saturday, January 30. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
