
Women's Swimming & Diving Finishes Fifth At Patriot Invitational

FAIRFAX, VA. - The Seton Hall women's swimming & diving team finished fifth out of nine teams with a score of 354 and also earned five BIG EAST qualifying times during the three-day Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason.
Freshman Kerrie Kolackovsky (Franklin Square, N.Y.) and junior Brittany Hervey (Bethpage, N.Y.) each finished with first place scores to lead the way.
Kolackovsky took home her top time in the 200-yard breaststroke, later adding fourth place times in the 500-yard freestyle and the mile. Hervey dove to a first place score in the 1-meter board in addition to her fifth place score in the 3-meter event.
Freshman Jane Ehret (Florida, N.Y.) earned points in three individual events earning a fifth place score in the 200-yard butterfly, seventh place score in the 400-yard individual medley, and 13th place time in the 200-yard individual medley.
The 200-yard butterfly proved vital to the Pirates as freshman Kelly Markwell (Old Bridge, N.J.) finished 11th and sophomore Brenna O'Keefe (Hyde Park, N.Y.) finished 12th.
Senior Brittany Henning (Batavia, Ill.) recorded a seventh place time in the 100-yard breaststroke while junior Kaley Swider (Galloway, N.J.) picked up a 10th place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Senior Kara Walbaum (Long Valley, N.J.) earned a 16th place finish in the 100-yard backstroke to close out the weekend.
In addition to Hervey on the boards, freshman Katie Riley (Newburgh, N.Y.) scored an eighth place finish in the 1-meter diving event.
Following the end the weekend, O'Keefe, Paige Calkins (Austin, Tex.), Marielle O'Connor (Allentown, Pa.), Megan Rathbun (Long Valley, N.J.), and Carly Winton (Hainesport, N.J.) each earned a trip to the BIG EAST Championships giving the women's team a total of 19.
The women's team returns to action December sixth when they host Montclair State at 5:00 p.m.
