CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Seton Hall softball team fell, 9-0, to Marshall in five innings to wrap up pool play of the Charlotte Green & White Tournament. The Pirates (1-2) will get a chance for revenge when they take on the Herd at 5:00 p.m. tonight.
Junior Katie Stilwell (Portage, Wis.) cruised through the first two innings without incident, but ran into trouble in the third. Jazmine Valle led the inning off with a triple and scored on a wild pitch. Stilwell walked the next batter before exiting the game.
Another walk and a double-steal put runners on second and third with one out and Caitlyn Jackson doubled to make it 3-0. The Herd (9-3) continued to pour it on, scoring six more runs and put the game out of reach.
Stilwell (0-1) earned the decision after throwing two innings and allowing two earned runs.
