WOODSTOCK, Ga. - The Seton Hall softball team dropped a 16-0 decision to No. 9 Georgia Tech at the Buzz Classic. The Pirates fall to 1-6 on the year and have lost six straight.
Hope Rush immediately gave the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 lead with a towering home run over the leftfield wall.
Georgia Tech poured more on in the second on an RBI single from Jen Yee and a two-run knock from Shannon Bear to extend the cushion to 5-0.
The Yellow Jackets added four in the third and seven in the fourth as they cruised to victory.
Senior Ashley Forsyth (Freehold, N.J.) threw a scoreless inning of relief. Junior Brittany Schillizzi (Paramus, N.J.) recorded the only Pirate hit of the game. Freshman Hannah Hill (Fryeburg, Maine) took the loss in her collegiate debut.
Seton Hall will continue play at the Buzz Classic with a pair of games against Kennesaw State at 11:00 a.m. and Howard at 1:00 p.m.
