SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Former Seton Hall men's soccer player Kobié Johnson has joined Manny Schellscheidt's coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2010 season. Johnson was a four-year starter for the Pirates and was Seton Hall's male athlete for the 1998-99 academic year.
"Kobié is a young and enthusiastic former Seton Hall player and we are very happy to have him spend more time with us," Schellscheidt stated. "He not only has the experience of having played here, but learned other systems and has become a very knowledgeable coach."
Johnson returns to his alma mater after spending the past two years with the Pasco/N.J. Stallions U-15 to U-17 girls and boys teams in Clifton, N.J. where he served as a coach and trainer for the club. He also has coaching and training experience with the World Class Soccer, Inc., where he guided his boys U-17 team to its first ever Jefferson Cup Championship, and helped lead the Parsippany Soccer Club capture the number 12 ranking in the country.
Upon graduating in 1999, Johnson enjoyed a seven-year playing career with Karlsruhe SC and SV Kuppenheim in Germany.
