Harrell helped Seton Hall post a 4-1 record last week by hitting .600 (9-for-15) with three runs scored and a team-high four stolen bases as the Pirates beat Maryland, 6-2, and posted a 3-1 record at the UMBC Dawg Pound Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, March 9-10, in Baltimore, Md., and Washington, D.C.
It is the first time in her career that Harrell receives BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll recognition and she is the second Seton Hall student-athlete to earn the accolade this year; sophomore Danielle DeStaso (Congers, N.Y.) was named to the first Honor Roll of the year on Feb. 11.
Harrell went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and a stolen base in the victory over Maryland last Wednesday and was 2-for-3 in an 8-4 win over Coppin State on Saturday.
Her biggest game of the week came in Seton Hall's 4-3 come from behind victory over Princeton. She finished that game 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of stolen bases, an RBI and a run scored. The RBI was in the bottom of the sixth inning when a single up the middle scored what proved to be the game-winning run in freshman Jackie DiPietro (Horsham, Pa.)
She concluded the week by going 2-for-3 in the second game of a doubleheader at George Washington University on Sunday afternoon. She hit safely in four of SHU's five games and had four multi-hit games.
So far this season Harrell has started in all 16 games and ranks second on the team with a .380 average and is third with a .426 on-base percentage. She has scored a team-high 11 runs as the Pirates' leadoff hitter and is 8-for-10 in stolen base attempts; her eight steals rank third in the BIG EAST.
Seton Hall returns to action this weekend when it travels to San Diego, Calif., to compete in a tournament at San Diego State University. The Pirates open tournament play on Friday, March 15, when they face Texas Tech at 2:30 p.m. (ET) and Miami (Ohio) at 7:30 p.m. (ET).
