Alexis Walkden Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

NEW YORK - Seton Hall University freshman third baseman Alexis Walkden (Cibolo, Texas) was named to the BIG EAST Softball Weekly Honor Roll Monday it was announced by the league office.
Walkden capped off her weekend at the East Carolina Pirate Invitational with her second-career multi-home run game, sending two over the wall in a 10-8 Seton Hall win over host East Carolina on Sunday afternoon.
For the week, Walkden hit a team-leading .375 with a .444 on-base percentage and 1.125 slugging percentage. She scored twice and drove in five runs against ECU.
Walkden's first home run came in the top of the second inning, a two-run shot over the center field wall. Two innings later, she went yard once again. With two on and two out, Walkden plated three with a homer to left field.
So far this season, Walkden has started 13-of-14 games for the Pirates, batting .292 while tying for the team lead with five home runs, driving in nine.
Seton Hall returns to action in two weeks, when it opens up a 10-day Spring Break trip to Clearwater, Fla., with the USF Under Armour Showcase from Friday-Sunday, March 6-8. The Pirates begin tournament play that Friday against Bowling Green and North Florida.
