Harrell Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

NEW YORK - Seton Hall University leadoff batter Yasmin Harrell (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Softball Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season Monday it was announced by the league office.
Riding a four-game hitting streak, Harrell has excelled at the top of the lineup, hitting .571 (8-of-14) in five conference games last week, while recording three multi-hit games with two runs scored and three stolen bases.
Although the Pirates failed to pick up a win against defending BIG EAST champion DePaul during a three-game midweek series, Harrell closed out that set with back-to-back multi-hit games. Going 2-for-3 in the finale on Wednesday afternoon.
In a doubleheader sweep of Villanova on Sunday afternoon, Harrell went 3-for-6 in two games. In Seton Hall's 7-5 win in game two, she was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two stolen bases.
Harrell leads the BIG EAST with 35 hits this season, and her .347 average is second at The Hall and 12th in the league. Seton Hall's all-time leader in steals, she has eight this year and 55 over her career, good for third all-time at SHU.
Seton Hall wraps up its three game set with Villanova this afternoon at 3 PM. The Pirates return to action for a three-game set a Providence College on Monday-Tuesday, April 6-7, in Providence, R.I.
