Seton Hall will return to the friendly confines of Walsh Gymnasium this weekend for a pair of BIG EAST Conference matches. On Friday, October 7, the Pirates will host DePaul at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, The Hall will face Marquette, also at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free, but for those not attending in person, both contests will be available free of charge on the Pirate Sports Network at SHUpirates.com.

Last week, Seton Hall split a pair of BIG EAST road matches. On Tuesday, the Pirates swept Georgetown in Washington, D.C. Senior Danielle Schroeder recorded a match-high 14 kills. On Saturday, The Hall lost in four sets at St. John's. Sophomore Abby Thelen led the team with 15 kills. Schroeder had 13 kills and freshman Haylee Gasser finished with a career-high 11 kills. Madison Salkowski registered a career-high nine blocks.Â

DePaul enters Friday's contest with an overall record of 10-7 and a 4-1 mark in conference play. They are off to their best BIG EAST start in several years with wins in four of their first five contests. DePaul's lone BIG EAST loss came at Creighton in four sets to during opening weekend. The Blue Demons have swept Georgetown, defeated Villanova in four sets and registered five set victories at Providence, and most recently, vs. Butler. Seton Hall has never lost to the Blue Demons in 14 all-time meetings. Last year, the Pirates swept them in Walsh Gym and won in four sets in Chicago.Â

Marquette enters the weekend with an overall record of 13-4 and a 3-2 mark in conference play. The Golden Eagles have suffered a three-set loss at Creighton and a four-set loss at home to Villanova. Victories in BIG EAST play have come in straight sets at Providence and most recently Xavier. They also defeated Georgetown at home in four sets. Seton Hall has won only five of 16 all-time meetings against the Golden Eagles. Last year, Marquette swept the season series winning in straight sets in Walsh Gym and in four sets in Milwaukee.

HONOR ROLL FOR SCHROEDER
Senior Danielle Schroeder was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday for the second straight week and the third time this season. On Tuesday at Georgetown, she recorded a match-high 14 kills to go along with an impressive .409 attack percentage, two digs and two blocks. At St. John's on Saturday, Schroeder had 13 kills, three digs and matched her career-high with seven blocks.Â

Senior Tessa Fournier needs just 37 digs to pass current assistant coach Allie Matters for second on Seton Hall's career digs list. Former teammate Alyssa Warren is the Pirates' all-time leader with 2,381.

Three Seton Hall freshmen stood out in Seton Hall's loss at St. John's on Saturday. Haylee Gasser had a career-high 11 kills and a .400 attack percentage. Madison Salkowski had six kills and a career-high nine blocks, the highest block total of any Pirate this year. Maggie Cvelbar had 16 assists and eight digs.

Seton Hall won its third straight BIG EAST Conference match with a three-set sweep of Georgetown, 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 26-24), on Tuesday. Senior Danielle Schroeder collected a match-high 14 kills. Freshman Haylee Gasser recorded a career-high 10 kills to go with just one attack error.

CAREER NIGHT FOR HENNIGAN
Sophomore Cherise Hennigan erupted for a career-high 23 kills in Seton Hall's five-set victory over Butler on Sept. 23. Her previous high was 16 kills, which was recorded five times, most recently against Towson on Sept. 3 of this year. She also had two blocks and two digs against the Bulldogs.

COFFEY MOVES INTO EIGHTH
With 43 assists vs. Butler on Sept. 23, sophomore Sophia Coffey moved past former Pirate Nichole Bushroe for eighth on the all-time list. She needs 516 more to pass Beata Jastrzembski for seventh on the list.

SETON HALL RALLIES PAST RUTGERS
The Pirates rallied from two sets down to defeat Rutgers in Piscataway in the finale of the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday. Four Pirates reached double figures in kills, led by 17 from Dani Schroeder. Sophia Coffey had a season-high 46 assists. Collectively, the Pirates had a season-high .329 attack percentage.

PIRATES WIN BLUE RAIDER BASH
Seton Hall lost only one set over the three matches of the Blue Raider Bash, defeating Illinois State in four sets and sweeping both Tennessee Tech and host Middle Tennessee State. It is Seton Hall's first road tournament championship since winning the Carmichael Invitational at Rhode Island in 2012.

FOURNIER NAMED PRESEASON ALL-BIG EAST
Senior Tessa Fournier was unanimously named to the 2016 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. A three-time AVCA All-Region honoree, Fournier was named BIG EAST Libero of the Year for a second consecutive season in 2015, and led the BIG EAST in both digs (583) and digs per set (5.16).

Seton Hall was picked seventh in this year's BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll. Creighton was the unanimous conference favorite, followed by Marquette and Xavier. The Pirates have outplayed their expectations in each of the last two seasons under head coach Allison Yaeger. In 2014, The Hall was picked to finish sixth, but placed second. In 2015, they were picked sixth, but finished fifth.Â
