Pirates Recognized in CollegeSwimming.com Polls

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's and women's swimming & diving teams have continued to strive this season and were recognized last week with appearances in the national and mid-major polls by collegeswimming.com.
The men's squad was ranked No. 38 in the national poll and fifth at the mid-major level, while the women made their presence at No. 22 in the mid-major poll. Currently, the men are mid-major No. 19.
The Pirates are on the heels of an impressive weekend at the George Mason Patriot Invitational, where the men and the women each set two school records.
Freshman Sara Ouellette (Granby, Conn.) swam 2:00.87 for the 200-yard backstroke record. Freshman Clara Capone (West Hartford, Conn.), senior Tessa Lindner (Sun Prairie, Wisc.), freshman Jordan Decker (Mason, Ohio) and sophomore Courtney McCardle (Hurley, N.Y.) swam a record 3:28.54 in the 400 free relay.
For the men, sophomore Dakota Williams (Noank, Conn.) earned the 100 free record with a 45.28 performance. The 800 free relay team then posted a school-record and winning time of 6:40.63 behind the efforts of sophomore Lior Grubert (Yehud-Monosson, Israel), junior Vadim Jacobson (Arnold, Md.), freshman Tyler Kauth (Wall, N.J.) and junior Noah Yanchulis (Arnold, Md.).
SHU will break from competition until Friday, Jan. 6 when it hosts Iona at 4 p.m. in South Orange.
