SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's tennis team hosted a "day-in-the-life" practice with community club members at Centercourt Academy in Chatham on Friday, Dec. 2.
To give a sense of what it feels like to be a Pirate, the student-athletes ran through a practice and gave tips, pointers and advice to participants. Additionally, members teamed up with the Pirates for exhibition singles and doubles play.
"We really enjoy doing events like these because it gets our fans excited about Seton Hall tennis and more so because we can thank them for their passionate support face-to-face," said head coach Riza Zalameda. "Our community loves tennis, so we wanted to show our appreciation by giving them a closer look at what it's like to train as a Division-1 student-athlete."
"I loved the energy the ladies brought to the court today," said junior captain Katie Kim (Honolulu, Hawaii). "I think we made a very nice impression, and we look forward to building a strong relationship with Centercourt and members of the community."
The Pirates will begin their spring season at the NJIT Tournament on Jan. 21-22 in Newark.
