Pirates Conclude Spring Break Trip With Win Over Sam Houston

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Seton Hall softball team (12-10) concluded its 12-game Spring Break trip on Sunday morning with a 4-2 victory over Sam Houston State in its finale at the USF Under Armour Invitational. Four different Pirates drove in a run in the victory, as The Hall was led by a 3-for-3 performance from Lauren Fischer (Robbinsville, N.J.) to back a seven-strikeout complete game from Madison Strunk (Adkins, Texas).
The Hall scored three runs in the first free frames and added another in the fourth, holding SHSU scoreless over the final three innings to seal the victory. Strunk allowed two runs on six hits in her 7.0 inning effort, walking one against seven strikeouts.
Inside The Numbers
- The Pirates out-hit SHSU 9-6 on the day
- Fischer, Noel Lent (Yaphanic, N.Y.), Chrisa Head (Lewisville, Texas) and Faith Laudano (Islip, N.Y.) all drove in runs for the Hall
- The contest featured only two extra-base hits, including a Fischer double
- Rabbetts scored two runs, while Laudano had a 2-for-2 effort along with her RBI
