
Pirates Named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A total of 11 members of the 2017 Seton Hall softball team were honored with All-America Scholar Athlete honors, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced on Tuesday (Oct. 10). The 11 Pirates earned the prestigious award for compiling a 3.5 GPA or higher in the 2016-17 academic year.Â
Joelle Arrante, Alannah Basile, Lauren Fischer, Katherine Matthys, Destini Peck, Alyssa Prukop, Ragen Reddick, Emily Supercysnki, Valerie Suto, Alexis Walkden and Katherine Wilson were the Pirates to be honored by the NFCA. Both Suto and Walkden have also been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District teams in 2016 and 2017, respectively. In addition, Walkden, the 2017 BIG EAST Player of the Year, earned the BIG EAST Sports Excellence award for academic and athletic achievement after her junior season.Â
