Andres Arcila (Cartagena, Colombia) also tallied for The Hall, netting an equalizer in the 60th minute to erase a 1-0 lead which DePaul took in the 21st minute. The goal was Arcila's third of BIG EAST play and seventh overall this year, moving him into a tie atop the conference leaders.
Turning Points
Down a goal and near the one-hour mark of the match, Arcila pulled the Pirates level in the 60th minute. Patrick Burd (Hillsborough) starting the scoring play with a through-ball ahead to Marco Neves (Tracy, Calif.), who flicked a pass to Arcila heading towards the box. Arcila ran a quick give-and-go in the penalty area with Jonathan Jimenez (Cape Coral, Fla.), eventually gathering on the right side and rifling a shot into the top left corner of the cage.
The Pirates continued to control play in the second half, finally breaking through for the go-ahead goal in the 84th minute. The Hall earned a throw-in deep in DePaul territory, taken by Juan Camilo Abella (Cali, Colombia) and flung towards the box. DPU got a head on the toss but couldn't fully clear, leading to a flick-on from the head of Gaspar Jean-Baptiste to the far post. Rushing in from his defensive position, Pangonis beat the defense to the ball and made a sliding attempt that snuck past the keeper to give The Hall a lead it would not relent.
