BRONX, N.Y. – The Seton Hall softball team continued play at the Fordham Softball Tournament on Saturday, dropping a pair of contests to the host Rams and to Detroit Mercy. The Hall will conclude its run at the tournament on Sunday against Holy Cross.

Game 1 – Fordham 9, Seton Hall 2

How it Happened
- Down 1-0 in the top of the fourth, The Hall got RBI knocks from Baylee Allender (Rosharon, Texas) and Chrisa Head (Adkins, Texas) to take a 2-1 lead
- The Rams responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth to jump back ahead by a run
- Fordham added three more with a pair of home runs in the bottom of the fifth before tacking on another three in the sixth to push its lead to the eventual 9-2 margin
News, Notes and Numbers
- The Pirates fall to 12-13-1 all-time against Fordham
- Fordham finished with a 12-8 edge in hits
- Eight different Pirates recorded a hit in the setback
- Allender went 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI
- The double was Allender's fourth of the season through 20 at-bats

Game 2 – Detroit Mercy 9, Seton Hall 6

How it Happened
- The Pirates took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second thanks to an RBI double for Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.) and a run-scoring single from Sara Foster (Laguna Beach, Calif.)
- Pandolfo tacked onto The Hall's lead with an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth
- The Titans answered emphatically with a seven-run top of the sixth to take an 8-3 lead
- Detroit added another run in the seventh before The Hall nearly rallied in the bottom of the frame
- The Pirates loaded the bases with no outs, then got an RBI fielder's choice from Jaden Tate (Las Vegas, Nev.) before a Payton Beaver (Lake Stevens, Wash.) RBI single
- Allender slimmed the lead to three with an RBI groundout, but that was as close as The Hall would get despite bringing the tying run to the plate in the final frame

- The Hall is now 0-2 all-time against Detroit Mercy
- The Pirates recorded a 12-9 edge in hits but were felled by five errors that led to six unearned runs
- Pandolfo finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored
- The Hall got two-hit efforts from Beaver, Foster and Alyssa Prukop (Coto de Caza, Calif.)
- Both of Prukop's hits were doubles, with Foster and Pandolfo also recording two-baggers
