
Walkden Goes Deep In Setback At Villanova

VILLANOVA, Pa. – Alexis Walkden (Cibolo, Texas) hit her team-high 10th home run of the year in a 6-1 setback for the Seton Hall softball team (18-32, 4-14 BIG EAST) at Villanova (26-19-2, 10-5 BIG EAST) on Sunday at the Villanova Softball Complex. It was the second-straight day with a home run for Walkden, who has hit eight of her 51 career home runs against the Wildcats. The contest marked the conclusion of a three-game set at Villanova.
How It Happened
The Pirates will play their non-conference finale and final home game of 2018 on Tuesday, May 1 when they host Stony Brook at 3:30 p.m.

How It Happened
- Villanova struck first, pushing a run across with a fielder's choice in the bottom of the first
- Walkden leveled the score in the top of the third by smashing a solo home run to left
- The Wildcats would re-take the lead in the bottom of the third with a two-out, two-run single
- VU tacked on to its lead with three runs in the fifth to go up 6-1 which stood as the final score
- The Pirates were out-hit 8-5 in the setback, while neither side committed an error
- Walkden's third-inning home run was her 10th of the year – she has now hit double-digit home runs in three of her four seasons at Seton Hall
- Walkden is now eight home runs shy of the program record (Laura Taylor, 59) and is also eight RBIs away from Taylor's record of 160
- Sara Foster improved to 6-for-6 stealing bases this season with a second-inning swipe
- Foster also was the lone Pirate to notch a multi-hit effort, going 2-for-3
- Reganne Camp (Bloomington, Ill.) notched her 100th strikeout of the season in the sixth inning – Camp is the eighth different Pirate in program history to record a 100-strikeout season
