NEW YORK – Senior second baseman Sara Foster (Laguna Beach, Calif.) of the Seton Hall softball team has been named Second Team All-BIG EAST, the league announced on Thursday (May 10). The conference honor for Foster is her first since nabbing All-Tournament Team laurels as a freshman back in 2015.
Foster was a consistent force atop the Seton Hall lineup throughout conference play this season. The senior started all 21 league games for The Hall and batted a team-best .333, notching 19 hits along with three doubles and 12 runs scored. Foster used a keen eye to draw 10 walks in conference action against only two strikeouts, getting on base at a .441 clip.
The Pirates have now had at least one All-Conference honoree in each of the last six seasons under head coach Paige Smith. Last season Alexis Walkden was a First Team All-Conference performer, while both Walkden and Ragen Reddick earned Second Team nods in 2016.
