
Pirates Host Marquette In BIG EAST Action

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's soccer team (3-2-1, 0-1-0 BIG EAST) returns home for the first time in conference play on Saturday when it plays host to Marquette (3-4-0, 1-0-0 BIG EAST) at Owen T. Carroll Field. Kick-off in the BIG EAST bout is set for 6:30 p.m. and will air on the BIG EAST Digital Network via the FOX Sports mobile app.
Saturday's match, along with the women's soccer match at 1 p.m. earlier in the day is part of Blue Beard Army Day at Seton Hall.
After the conference home opener, the Pirates will face a stiff non-conference test on Tuesday, Sept. 25 when they travel to the Bronx to take on No. 25 Fordham.

- Saturday is "Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer" Day, and the Pirates will wear gold laces on their sneakers to help raise awareness for the Go 4 The Goal Foundation.
- As part of Blue Beard Army Day, Seton Hall Athletics will host games and activities for students beginning at 5:30 p.m.

- The most recent meeting was a 4-2 setback in Milwaukee last season that saw Nick Najera and Andres Arcila find the back of the net
- The Pirates are unbeaten in Marquette's last two visits to South Orange, including a 2-0 victory at Owen T. Caroll Field in 2016 that featured a Francisco Alderete goal
- The Golden Eagles are 0-2-0 on the road this season while the Pirates are 0-0-1 at home
- Marquette is coming off a 2-1 setback to Milwaukee in a non-conference derby on Tuesday, but opened BIG EAST play last weekend with a 3-0 win over then-No. 13 Villanova
- Connor Alba is one of three MU players with three goals on the year and leads the squad with seven points, with Patrick Seagrist and Lukas Sunesson also tallying three times
- Luka Prpa has been MU's top distributor with three assists and is second to Alba on the squad in shots
