
Pirates Welcome Hofstra For Home Opener

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – After opening the season with three games on the road, the Seton Hall men's soccer team (2-1-0) will play its long-awaited home opener on Thursday night when it hosts Hofstra (0-3-1) at Owen T. Carroll Field. Kick-off is set for 6:30 p.m. with the contest set to air for FREE on the Pirate Sports Network and the SHU Pirates app.
The Pirates off to a solid start under first-year head coach Andreas Lindberg, notching away victories at Army West Point and Central Connecticut State before dropping a tight one at Delaware. Hofstra is winless through its first four matches after facing a tough slate that included setbacks at Ohio State and nationally ranked Colgate.

The Pirates have more than a week off following the home opener, then dive into BIG EAST play with a conference derby at St. John's on Saturday, Sept. 15.

- Hofstra visits South Orange with an 0-3-1 record on the season, most recently falling at Syracuse by a score of 4-3 on Sunday
- The Pride is 0-3-0 away from home this season after opening the season with a neutral draw to Dayton
- Luke Brown is Hofstra's top goal-scorer with two tallies and has fired a team-high eight shots
- Alex Ashton has played every minute in goal and notched 20 saves through four matches
