Yocco and Hernandez Shine at Met Championship

Bronx, N.Y. - Senior Kassi Yocco (Bethlehem, Pa.) and junior Olivia Hernandez (East Brunswick, N.J.) turned in top-20 performances to lead the Seton Hall women's cross country team at the 2019 Metropolitan Championship Friday at Van Cortlandt Park. Yocco placed 14th with a time of 19:37.7 in the 5K race, and Hernandez finished 17th with a time of 19:48.7.
Seton Hall placed fifth out of nine schools competing in the race.
Yocco has now finished either first or second among her teammates in all six meets this season. Overall, she's also placed in the meet's top 20 in five of the six races she's run.
Hernandez is continuing her strong push in the season with her fourth overall top-20 finish of the year. She's been in the team's top five in each of the last four races.
Seton Hall will now prepare for the 2019 BIG EAST Championship, taking place Saturday, Nov. 2 in Kenosha, Wis. Coverage of the event will be available on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
