
Two Freshmen Shine as Pirates Top Rider, Fall to Rutgers in Tri-Meet

Piscataway, N.J. - A pair of freshmen posted some outstanding times to lead the women's swimming & diving team, which defeated Rider but lost to Rutgers Saturday at the Rutgers Preseason Tune-Up inside the Rutgers Aquatics Center.
Freshman Madeline Bachand (Raleigh, N.C.) delivered some strong distance performances, first finishing second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:07.64 and then completing the 1650 free with a time of 17:47.9 that was also good for second place.
Freshman Sierra Cripps (Seymour, Conn.) had a pair of top-three finishes on the weekend. She posted a 58.05 in the 100 butterfly to place third and then claimed second place in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:05.13.
Other top-three finishes on the weekend include freshman Savannah Kennedy (Fishers, Ind.) placing third in the 400 IM (4:37.60), junior Lexi Kolodgie (Baltimore, Md.) finishing third in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.97) and second in the 200 breaststroke (2:27.88), senior Jill Calocino (Maywood, N.J.) finishing third in the 1650 free (18:01.52) and junior Amelia Wootton (Bethel, Conn.) claiming third in the 100 IM (1:02.14).
Seton Hall will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 18 when it hosts Montclair State and Monmouth in tri-meet action at Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium. Meet time is 4 p.m.
