Pirates Fall to FIU Sunday Afternoon

New Providence, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's tennis team played the doubles point down to the wire, but could not prevail, and fell 4-0 to FIU on Sunday afternoon at Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness Center.

Juniors Melody Taal (Ede, Netherlands) and Michal Matson (Christchurch, New Zealand) tied up the best-of-three series for the doubles point with a 6-3 victory at the No. 3 flight, but the Pirates could not keep pace with the Panthers.

Taal played a tightly-contested singles match at the No. 3 flight, but Seton Hall ultimately fell to FIU.

Up next, the Pirates host Drexel on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 2:30 p.m. inside Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness Center.
