Since this would have been Seton Hall's graduation month, we will highlight our seniors as part of our "May Senior Spotlight Series." Powered by Under Armour, we engaged select seniors with a little question and answer session about their time at The Hall.   Â

Kat Matthys (Spring Branch, Texas) was a standout student-athlete on the field, in the classroom and in the community for the Seton Hall softball team. At the 2020 SHUcademy Awards this past Wednesday, Matthys was named softball's teammate of the year by her fellow Pirates and was honored with the Pirate Perseverance Award, the Most Valuable Pirate Award and was an Academic All-Star for posting one of the highest GPAs in the athletic department. Matthys was poised for a strong senior campaign following a junior season that saw her tally seven multi-hit games, 17 RBI six doubles and 31 starts.
Q:Â What's your favorite memory competing for your team?
A:Â The game against Lehigh last year where I had my first and only triple and stolen base in the same game.
Q:Â What's your favorite snack at "The Cafe?"
A:Â The sushi, it's not even close.
Q:Â Who's the teammate you'll most remember?
A:Â Chrisa Head
