
Pirates Host #13 Providence in BIG EAST Showdown

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's soccer team will host #13 Providence on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Pirates are currently unbeaten at home, winning each of their first four games at Owen T. Carroll Field.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
The department will allow two parents or guardians of each Seton Hall student-athlete to attend an outdoor competition that is hosted on campus, including games at Owen T. Carroll Field for men's and women's soccer, Mike Sheppard Sr. Stadium for baseball and Mike Sheppard Sr. Field for softball.
Unfortunately, due to capacity limits, this policy does not apply towards parents or guardians of members of the opposing team or members of the general public.
LAST TIME OUT
The Pirates picked up a win over Villanova on Wednesday, 1-0. Paavo Riihijarvi (Oulu, Finland) was able to find the back of the net for the lone goal of the game halfway through the first period of play. Luca Dahn (Kahl, Germany) and James Boote (Southampton, England) picked up the helper for The Hall who is now outscoring opponents 7-1 in the first half this season.
The win moved the Pirates to 4-1-2 on the season and 2-1-1 in the BIG EAST. The victory also slid the Pirates into a second place tie with this Saturday's opponent, Providence, at seven points apiece.

- The Friars opened up conference play with wins over UConn and Villanova before drawing with #5 Georgetown. Providence proceeded to drop its most recent game, 2-0, against St. John's.
- The two goals surrendered against St. John's were the first two allowed all year for the Friars.
- Providence leads the all-time series between the two programs, 17-12-6. The most recent Pirate win came in 2012.
NEWS & NOTES
- The Pirates finds themselves at the #25 spot in two national polls, TopDrawerSoccer.com and CollegeSoccerNews.com. They are also receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. This is the first time the Pirates have been ranked nationally since 2006.
- For the second consecutive season, the Pirates have opened a perfect 4-0 to start their home schedule.
- The Hall leads the BIG EAST in shutouts with five clean sheets on the campaign.
- #13 Providence will be the Pirates third, top-25 ranked opponent of the season. They are 1-1 in those games with a 1-0 win over #15/21 St. John's and a 2-1 loss in overtime against #5/1 Georgetown.
