Pirates Face Tough Road Test Against Georgetown on Wednesday

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's soccer team will travel to Washington, D.C. to take on Georgetown on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Pirates picked up three big points on Saturday when they took down St. John's at Owen T. Carroll Field, 1-0. The Red Storm came into the matchup ranked 15^th and 21^st by College Soccer News and TopDrawerSoccer, respectively. The game served as the BIG EAST opener for the Pirates who find themselves 1-0 in conference for second time in three seasons. Paavo Riihijarvi (Oulu, Finland) scored the lone goal of the game with JP Marin (Briarwood, N.Y.) picking up the assist. Riihijarvi was awarded BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week while Marin earned a spot on the conference's weekly Honor Roll.

SCOUTING – Georgetown (1-0-0, 1-0-0)

The Hoyas saw the field for the first time this season last Saturday when they picked up a win over BIG EAST foe Villanova, 3-0.
Georgetown won the 2019 NCAA National Championship and serves as the number one ranked team in the nation in most online polls.
The Hoyas lead the all-time series between the two programs, 20-16-3.

NEWS & NOTES

The Pirates have earned three consecutive shutout victories for the first time since 2005 when they opened the season with blanks over Birmingham Southern, Air Force and Adelphi.
The Pirates have now held opponents scoreless for 302 consecutive minutes dating back to the season-opening draw against NJIT.
The last Seton Hall win over St. John's prior to Saturday was in 2014, also a 1-0 victory.
Seton Hall is now outscoring opponents 6-1 in the first half this season.
