South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall softball team dropped the series finale with St. John's on Sunday, 5-4. The Pirates move to 5-10 on the season and 2-4 in the BIG EAST.

The Pirates will stay home to play a pair of double headers with Holy Cross, one on Friday and one on Sunday.
How it Happened
- The Red Storm scored first with two runs in the top half of the first.
- The Red Storm would double their lead with two more in the second to make it a 4-0 ballgame.
- In the fourth St. John's would tack on one more to grow their lead to 5.
- The Hall would cut into the St. John's lead on a Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) two-run double in the fourth.
- In the same inning, the Pirates would chip into the lead for two more runs on back-to-back bases loaded walks for Shelby Smith (Friendswood, Texas) and Abby Wingo (Portland, Ore.).
- Smith came in to throw 3.2 innings of scoreless relief while only giving up two hits in the process.
- Arteaga, Smith and Lela Allen (Phoenix, Ariz.) all had multi-hit bids for the Pirates.
- The two RBI's for Arteaga give her nine on the year and 118 for her career, good enough for fifth place all-time in Seton Hall history.
- The two hits for Allen were the first in her brief career with The Hall.
