NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Abby Wingo (Portland, Ore.) was awarded a spot on the BIG EAST's Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced on Monday. Wingo hit .462 over four games for the Pirates, including four doubles and three RBIs.
Wingo was especially effective at the plate in The Hall's BIG EAST series with St. John's in which she hit .500 with three doubles in three games. In the Pirates' victory over the Red Storm on Saturday, Wingo was a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate with a pair of doubles and a pair of RBIs to her credit.
This is the second time the sophomore Wingo has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll in her career and is the third Pirate to be awarded a spot of the conference's Weekly Honor Roll this season after Shelby Smith (Friendswood, Texas) last week and Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.) the week before.
As a team, the Pirates went 1-2 in their series with St. John's and will be back in action this weekend with a pair of doubleheaders against Holy Cross at home. The Pirates will host the Crusaders on Friday with first pitch at 1 p.m., and then again on Sunday with first pitch set for noon.
