Pirates Ready to Roll at BIG EAST Championships

Cary, N.C. - The Seton Hall women's cross country team will compete in its first action of the year when they take part in the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships Presented by Jeep on Friday, March 5. Women's race time is set for 11 a.m. The race will take place at the WakeMed Soccer Park Field in Cary, N.C.

The BIG EAST will stream the championships to the conference YouTube page as well as FloSports. Live results will also be available.

After a solid freshman season in which she was a top-two Pirate finisher in six of eight meets, Arianna Braccio (Nashua, N.H.) will look to make an impact for the Pirates in her second season. Braccio took first overall to help give the Pirates the victory at the NYIT Invitational and was the leading finisher for The Hall at the 2019 BIG EAST Championships.

Seniors Olivia Hernandez (East Brunswick, N.J.) and Emily Hernandez (East Brunswick, N.J.) picked up top-five finishes for Seton Hall at the last year's BIG EAST Championships as well. Seton Hall's NJAIAW Woman of the Year, Cristina Fernandez (Parsippany, N.J.), helped to round out the top-five finishers at the 2019 Championships.

The Pirates last competed at the IC4A/ECAC Championship on Nov. 23, 2019, one of three Pirate victories from a season ago.
