Tate Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Kiana Tate (Las Vegas, Nev.) was awarded a spot on the BIG EAST's Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced on Monday. Tate hit .500 over four games for the Pirates, including two multi-hit efforts for The Hall.
Tate was especially effective at the plate in The Hall's BIG EAST series at Creighton in which she went 5-for-8 (.625). The infielder went 2-for-2 on Saturday with an RBI, walk and stolen base for the Pirates. Continuing her solid play in the field this season at both shortstop and third base, Tate had another flawless week at the hot corner.
The junior Tate is the fourth Pirate to be awarded a spot of the conference's Weekly Honor Roll this season with Abby Wingo (Portland, Ore.), Shelby Smith (Friendswood, Texas) and Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.) being the others.
The Pirates will have some time off before hosting Stony Brook on Wednesday, April 14th. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
