Providence, R.I. – The Seton Hall softball team dropped its final regular season game and series at Providence on Sunday but a score of 8-4. Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.) homered for the third time in as many games while Abby Wingo (Portland, Ore.) also went deep for the Pirates.

How it Happened

The Pirates jumped ahead early with Pandolfo's home run in the top half of the first. In her final collegiate game, Pandolfo went deep to left to put the Pirates up 1-0.
The Friars would respond with three runs in their half of the inning to take a 3-1 lead with the big blow coming on a two-run double from Traver. After one inning of play, Providence was out to a 3-1 lead.
The Hall would fight back in the second when Wingo homered to right, her second of the year to cut the Friar lead to one after two innings of play.
Providence would double their run total in the third with three more runs in the home-half of the inning. The Friars used two home runs, a solo shot and a two-run long ball to pick up their runs.
In the fourth, the Friars would extend their lead with an RBI single off the bat of McGarry with runners at the corners to take a 7-2 lead.
The teams would trade runs in the fifth as Janae Barracato (Hempstead, N.Y.) singled home Taylor Soanes (Missouri City, Texas) in the visitor's half of the inning. The Friars would get a run of their own in the home-half on a double play with two runners on.
Down five in the seventh, the Pirates were able to load the bases but could only muster one run on a Kelsey Carr (Ridgewood, N.Y.) RBI walk to fall by a score of 8-4.

Notes and Numbers

Pandolfo finishes out her Pirate-career with 25 home runs, good enough for fifth place on the Pirates' all-time list. Her 90 career RBIs rank her ninth all-time on the Pirate leaderboard.
Barracato and Wingo each picked up two hits for the Pirates whiles Soanes, Pandolfo, Carr and Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) also picked up knocks in the setback.
The Pirates round out the season with a 9-23 record and 5-13 mark in-conference.
