Kansas City, Mo. – Graduate defender Luca Dahn (Kahl, Germany) was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Second Team on Tuesday. Dahn earns an all-region honor for the second time in his career, as he was named to the All-East Region First Team following the 2020 season.
Dahn, who was also named to the All-BIG EAST First Team this past season, was a defensive anchor all season long. The graduate logged 1488 minutes on the back line for the Pirates, playing full-time in 16 out of his 17 matches on the season. Dahn captained a defense that allowed just 11 goals during BIG EAST play, which was tied for the second fewest in the conference. The Pirates posted six shutouts on the season, which is tied for the second most in a single season in program history.
Dahn's efforts on the pitch helped guide Seton Hall to one of its most successful seasons in recent years. The Pirates finished second in the BIG EAST standings in 2022, their highest finish since the 1991 team which won the regular season title. The Hall also earned 17 points during league play this season, the most for the program since 2006. This all culminated in the program's 13th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, as the Pirates qualified for the second time in the last three seasons.
With this honor, Dahn becomes the 63rd all-region honoree in program history. He also becomes the 18th Pirate to earn an all-region honor multiple times throughout his career. Dahn becomes the first Pirate to garner multiple all-region honors since Eliseo Giusfredi, who notched three such awards from 2005-07.
