Tempe, Ariz. - Seton Hall tennis continues to shine in the classroom, as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) named the program to its Div. I Women's All-Academic Team and named six Pirates as Scholar-Athletes, the organization Monday. Named All-Scholars were freshmen Hili Kronzon and Arabella Moen, sophomores Oliwia Kempinski and Anastasia Petrova and juniors Arina Gumerova and Hiba El Khalifi.
In order to be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, tennis student-athletes must have a 3.5 GPA or higher during the academic year. For the program to be named to the All-Academic Team, the entire team must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
This is the ninth year in a row that the program has been named to the ITA's All-Academic team. El Khalifi has now been named a Scholar-Athlete in each of her three years at Seton Hall, and Kempinski is now a two-time honoree.
As a program, tennis finished 2021-22 with a 3.674 cumulative GPA, had a 3.629 GPA in the academic year and posted a 3.618 GPA in the Spring 2022 semester.
