Philadelphia, Pa. - The Pirates faced their first road test of the season on Monday night, playing Temple to a 1-1 draw. Quenzi Huerman (Vannes, France) scored his first goal as a Pirate early in the second half as the Pirates now sit at 1-0-1 on the young season.
How it Happened
Seton Hall controlled possession for the majority of the first half, registering the only three shots in the opening 45 minutes of play. Physical play was also a factor in the first half, as the teams combined for 21 fouls before halftime.
The script flipped in the second half as both offenses found their stride. Temple struck first in the 53rd minute, as Andrew Burkhardt gave the Owls a 1-0 lead. However, the advantage would not last long, as the Pirates evened things up just three minutes later. Huerman took a feed from JP Marin (Briarwood, N.Y.) at the edge of the penalty area and struck one with his left foot to the top-left corner of the goal.
The Pirates generated some solid chances late off of multiple set pieces, but Temple's defense kept Seton Hall from capturing the lead.
