NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Taylor Hill (Little Falls, N.J.) and Kyra Kreuscher (Great River, N.Y.) have been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Monday.
Hill batted .417 this past week, going 5-for-12 at the dish with two home runs, five runs batted in and three runs scored as the Pirates went 3-2 at the Pinnacle PC Invitational at Presbyterian College. Hill started the weekend with a bang, hitting two home runs and driving in three runs in the Pirates' win over IUPUI. It was the first multi-home run game of Hill's career. She would add another two-hit performance on Saturday in the win over Appalachian State.
Kreuscher made her first career start in the circle on Sunday against IUPUI and did not disappoint. The freshman fired a complete game one-hit shutout in the 6-0 win over the Jaguars. Kreuscher was four outs shy of a perfect game before a two-out single in the sixth inning ended her bid at history. She faced one batter over the minimum, as the sixth inning single was the lone batter to reach base against Kreuscher on the day.
The Pirates are back in action from March 3-5 as they take part in the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic at Texas Tech University, where they will face the Red Raiders, North Dakota and in-state rivals Rutgers.
